About Our Yard

North Brook End Stud is situated 12 miles west of Cambridge in the village of Steeple Morden. Originally a traditional Cambridgeshire farm, working both arable and livestock production, the stud utilised the farm buildings to house some of the Irish Draught Stallions which resided here with the previous owners.

North Brook End Stud is set in a total of 20 acres of new pasture and is fenced with traditional post and rail fencing. Our yard is made up of a court yard arrangement of stables and a number of loose boxes making a total of 22 stables and three foaling boxes. Our vets have an insemination unit containing a set of stocks for insemination of our mares during the breeding season.

Our yard has a conventional 20 by 40 arena and a horse walker, ideal for the winter months. Our location boasts some beautiful hacking and from our yard you have immediate access to a bridle path.

The plans for the future of our yard are exciting. Our goal is to extend our school to make it a more useful space for both working our horses and for teaching purposes. We intend to develop and expand the yard to the rear of the property and include a purpose built foaling unit so that the mares are located in one area of the yard.

For the weanling and yearlings we aim to set up a live stock building to allow them to be housed during the winter months.

Ultimately, our plan is to renovate our barn in order to provide a formal space for our expanding stud. The barn will act as a staff room, meeting area, office space, toilet and kitchen area.
