Our Team
Many thanks to our team of helpers, supporters and owners for their continued help throughout the busy year at North Brook End.
Spot the Dog
Spot is a very important member of the team here at North Brook End! He has many important roles ranging from stealing your lunch to warning you about loose horses. He is especially helpful at breaking young horses!
Douglas Harrison
Douglas has competed at national and international show jumping and has produced many young successful horses for all disciplines. Some have been sold and achieved Olympic status, whilst others have competed at Badminton and Burghley. No mean feat.
Douglas has a continuous flow of young horses coming in for breaking and schooling which keep him occupied for much of his week. However he can often be found with a lorry full of young horses at many a show!
Douglas is concentrating on producing his young horses for competition and hoping that some of the studs carefully bred young stock will be future stars.
Sarah Backhouse
Sarah has a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science, is a DEFRA approved AI technician, a BHSAI ISM registered instructor and also holds her Stage 4.
Sarah is responsible for most of the administration at the yard. She also helps with the breaking of the young horses and the education of the older ones.
Sarah combines her work here with a lecturing post at Shuttleworth College as well as teaching a number of freelance clients on their own horses.
Sarah also competes the horses and enjoys Eventing when time allows in the busy year at North Brook End.
Richard Davies
Richard is responsible for the welfare of the mares and foals throughout the year. As well as carrying out many of the day-to-day yard duties at North Brook End Stud, he works alongside the vets, throughout the spring and summer, to handle the mares and the foals.
His work is always to a high standard and we trust him 100% with the welfare of our horses. His help is valued and appreciated.
Angie Jones
Angie has been with us at North Brook End Stud for two years and has proved a really valuable member of our team. She previously worked at Cambridge Vet school and prior to that, with RDA Riders for many years. She has her NVQ level 3.
Angie has a super coloured horse, Liquorice, who we affectionately call technical spectacles!
