Cottage Prince
We are the home to Cottage Prince. He was imported from Ireland as a three year old and was aptly named "Smartie Pants".
Produced in his early years by Douglas and now ridden by Nigel Coupe, they are now successfully competing in AIT's and Grand Prix.
We hope that Nigel will be able to follow his success with some of our young stock in the future.
Tommy Tucker, Dolly & Paddy
TOMMY TUCKER
13hh chestnut gelding.
"This very special pony was recommended to me by Sarah. He is a complete Star. He gave my very nervous daughter bags of confidence, and she won too many rosettes and trophies to mention, in Ridden classes, Show Jumping, Hunter Trials, ODE and his specialty Working Hunter Pony. They even went to PUK! He also took her Hunting and always kept her safe."
DOLLY DAYDREAM
14:2hh chestnut mare
"Dolly was also recommended by Sarah, and she really taught my daughter to ride, giving her a passion for dressage, and continuing her love of Hunting.
Dolly and Sophie spent last winter doing Trailblazer Dressage Prelim and Novice, and in the summer off we went to Stoneliegh for the Championships!
Once again a fantastic pony that always kept my daughter safe (a must for any mother!)"
PADDINGTON BEAR
14hh bay gelding
"By now I trust Sarah 110%. So when she said come and look at this pony in the field, you should buy it. I did!! Paddy was a whole different story.
Very green, and needing lots of work, but Sarah said she would help and HELP she has. Always available to come and teach or on the end of the phone for advice and support. Paddy has been to Pony Club, and is competing successfully both on the flat and over fences, he is proving his weight in gold!"
Paddy has recently begun his British Dressage career and he and Sophie have clocked up an impressive first and second place in their first outing and have qualified for the Novice Trailblazer Championships in August.
Edd and Ollie
"We bought Edward from Douglas as a 6 year old. Since then he has gone far, competing successfully from local shows all the way up to national level with the pony and riding clubs. He is a fabulous pony who has a very strong character and has earned a permanent place in our family."
"Ollie was bought from Douglas as a 7 year old, with his laid back and trainable attitude, he has improved hugely with his flat work and his jumping and will jump anything you put in front of him. He is a straight forward little horse who will do anything you ask."
Flynn
"When we started looking for a first horse for our son, we were recommended to get in touch with Sarah Jane and Douglas and I'm so glad that we did. From the first contact, I was impressed by the friendly, professional service. The overriding priority from the start was to find the right horse for Matt and they really understood what was needed as a first horse for a 15 year old. Matt and Flynn clicked straight away but there was no hard sell. We were allowed to take our time to make sure it was a right match. Matt is having a lot of fun with Flynn and after only a few weeks, completed in his first ever cross country competition. We've kept in contact with Sarah Jan and Douglas and Matt and Flynn return regularly for lessons" Lois Teasdale
Fergal
"This is my horse Fergal and I. I keep my horse at North Brook End Stud and bought him from Sarah and Douglas. I have progressed in my abilities from being a nervous rider to going out competing and being placed. We have competed at Gosling cup, Bloom cup and been placed 3rd at a hunter trial at Ely." Abby
Levi
I asked Sarah and Douglas to find me a young horse as a project, one that I could bring on and sell the next year. They found me Levi, a 5 year old unbroken horse. Douglas said that he was a lovely sort and would be perfect for me. How right he was! Levi has been super, he has a fabulous temperament and been everything I has asked for. He was straightforward to break and bring on and has been out to some unaffiliated dressage and show jumping competitions.
We are now are aiming for our first BE intro event. Watch this space!
